Need for speed

Watching U19 world cups is seldom as fun as it in 2018. I remember some world cups that gave gems of players to Indian ranks that made world cricket sit up and notice the new talent hitting the world stage by storm. Virendra Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Virat Kohli are some of the examples of them.

This year’s World Cup is totally new in a sequence that India has for the first-time Indian front line bowlers making world teams hop and duck and taking cover. The speed gun shows an unrealistic consistent number of 140+ for both Mavi and Nagarkoti’s numbers. Add to that Shubhman & Prithvi’s dominance in the batting top order and Anukul Roy’s splendid spin has given a look to the Indian contingent as the most balanced and well rounded.

The most heartwarming is the Mavi’s & Nagarkoti’s aggression. Yes, Paras Mahambrey is working behind the scenes with them and the support staff is working tirelessly with the team. Rahul Dravid’s persistence to get the best of the squad and identify the right talents and clearing off the niggles is showing up with some fantastic prospects for the Indian team in the years to come.

How blessed we are to have Rahul Dravid, Ravi Shastri, Paras Mahambrey, Pravin Amre, Anil Kumble and the best of the best helping the next generation to carve out their niche in this fantastic game. Indian cricket is definitely in great hands.
